Electric driving may not be the best option for you, but don’t rule it out completely.
Electric driving is not the best option for you, as you cannot install a charging station at home and you cannot charge at work or nearby. Are you still considering an electric vehicle?
Charging advice:
- Electric driving is still an option – all you need is careful planning, as these days you can charge your vehicle at numerous public places, such as supermarkets, shopping centres, cinemas, sports centres, car parks and, of course, public charging stations on the streets.
- Consult your employer’s Car Policy to check whether charging at a fast-charging station is permitted (charging speeds differ between public charging stations).
- Find out whether your situation may or will change in the future.
- Many employers plan to install (more) charging stations in the near future.
- Many cities and towns also plan to expand their charging infrastructure. In some cities and towns (such as Antwerp and Ghent), you can also apply for a new charging station in your neighborhood.
- If you want to know more about charging stations in apartment buildings, check the end of this simulation for more information.
Vehicle selection advice:
- Choose a vehicle with a driving range of at least 0 km to ensure carefree driving every day.
- In your situation, a longer driving range is a better – but often more expensive – choice. Keep this in mind in the next step.
